A chef in a kitchen is working with fire and sparks flying as they handle a piece of wood or food over an open flame, with stacked plates and cooking utensils in the background.

Our Main Restaurant

Our menu changes daily, shaped by what lands at Brixham market that morning and what looks most exquisite on the day.

Daily deliveries mean the fish travels just a few miles to reach the table, where it’s cooked with charcoal, expertise, and little else asked of an ingredient that needs little improvement.

A hand sprinkling chopped green herbs on a plated cooked steak with sauce, butter, and garnish.

Alongside the freshest seafood, you’ll find pastas, rice dishes and stews inspired by coastal restaurants of the Mediterranean, the places where fishing boats still unload beside the kitchen door.  Carefully sourced meat cooked over fire – from Middlewhite pork chops to aged rib of beef. Classics like our Seahorse scallops with garlic, white port, tarragon and breadcrumbs rarely leave the menu, while new dishes and seasonal ingredients shift throughout the year.

Menu del Giorno

Our Menu del Giorno is our three-course set menu for locals and regulars, a lunch that celebrates what’s best at the market that week. Available Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm–2.30pm, it is designed for unhurried lunches, the kind where a quick catch‑up can easily become an afternoon by the water.

Expect simple, generous plates using the same beautiful seafood as our main menu, alongside seasonal meat and vegetable dishes, all at a fixed price.

If you enjoy good food, wine and stories from our table by the river, our newsletter is the best way to stay in touch.

You’ll hear first about guest chef dinners, wine club nights, festival events and special menus, plus a few behind‑the‑scenes moments from the kitchen and dining room.
